The Ludwig Museum – Museum of Contemporary Art in Budapest is one of Hungary’s leading contemporary art institutions. Founded in 1989 with a major donation from German collectors Peter and Irene Ludwig, it initially featured works by Picasso, American and international Pop Art, Photorealism and the art of the 1980s.  The collection now includes both international and Hungarian contemporary art, with a particular focus on artists from Central and Eastern Europe.

Located in the Müpa (Palace of Arts) building, the museum hosts dynamic exhibitions, art programmes, and educational and research initiatives, contributing to the promotion of contemporary art locally and internationally.
