Taymour Grahne Projects is expanding its international presence with the opening of a new gallery space in Alserkal Avenue, Dubai’s leading cultural district, in September 2025. This milestone coincides with the gallery’s twelve-year anniversary, having been founded in New York in 2013. Over the years, it has built a reputation for championing critical dialogue, fostering cross-cultural exchange, and nurturing long-term artist support.
The Dubai space will uphold the gallery’s commitment to curatorial excellence, presenting a dynamic exhibition program while continuing to engage audiences globally through its online exhibition program, as well as its London office.
This expansion introduces the gallery’s roster of both emerging and established artists to new audiences in the region. Taymour Grahne Projects represents artists from across the MENA region and its diasporas alongside international names, including Daniele Genadry, Amy Lincoln, Matthew F Fisher, Ala Younis, Mikey Yates, Samira Abbassy, Fayçal Baghriche, Gail Spaien, Sarah McEneaney, Lamia Joreige, and Katia Kameli.
Taymour Grahne Projects will inaugurate its 2,000 square-foot Dubai space with a solo exhibition of new works by American artist Gail Spaien (b. 1958), Arranging Flowers, on view from September 18 to November 6, 2025. Based in Maine, Spaien’s practice explores painting as a site of emotional exchange, with meticulously composed interiors and landscapes that encourage viewers to reflect on their surroundings and inner world.
Taymour Grahne Projects has long maintained a connection to the region through its exhibition programming. During its time in New York, the gallery was among the first to present solo exhibitions by key artists from the region, including Emirati artist Mohammed Kazem and the late Abu Dhabi-based artist and professor Tarek Al-Ghoussein, alongside a broader roster of artists from the MENA region and its diasporas. This new expansion cements Taymour Grahne Projects’ commitment to engaging with diverse global audiences while deepening its connection to the Middle East’s dynamic art ecosystem.
Grahne, a London-born, Lebanese-Finnish art dealer, says: “Opening a permanent space in Alserkal Avenue feels like a homecoming. Having lived in Beirut and travelled extensively in the region, I have strong personal and professional ties to this part of the world, and specifically to Dubai. The city’s rapidly expanding cultural landscape and growing community of collectors make it the ideal location for this next chapter of the gallery’s journey. We are excited to contribute to Dubai’s thriving art scene and to continue championing the incredible artists we work with.”
Director of Alserkal Avenue, Basmah El-Bittar comments on the opening of the gallery; “We’re pleased to welcome Taymour Grahne to Alserkal Avenue as he puts down roots in Dubai. It is a sign of the city’s fast-growing art scene, and we can’t wait to see the fresh energy and critical conversations Taymour will bring. With a diverse mix of international and regional artists, the gallery presence will only deepen the Avenue’s role as a hub for cutting-edge contemporary art in the region.”
