Curating Contemporary Art and Design: Theory and Practice, July 7—18, 2025 (online)
Together with the inspiring workshop leaders who bring creative expertise and critical perspectives, we offer two weeks of intensive debate with high profile artists and curators providing a unique insight into the urgency of curating and publishing in art and design today.
Our 2025 theme is ‘Why Publish? Publishing as Expanded Curatorial Practice’ and explores publishing as a significant creative and critical mode in contemporary curatorial practice. Organised around different curatorial motivations – such as documenting and archiving, constructing (new) histories, collaboration and radical collectives, self-organisation and activism – the course offers an overview of contemporary approaches to curatorial publishing practices in different global contexts.
“I was amazed of how much we covered and learned in just 2 weeks! I was so sad when it ended, I was ready for more. The program is extremely well organised, I would highly recommend this course.” - Eliana Hidalgo Vilaseca, EACHEVE Founder

“The course was a rigorous and extremely insightful exercise in exploring ways to expand one’s artistic practice. It is very well structured, the course leader and tutors pushed me outside my comfort zone while still being supportive and gave me very valuable feedback that will help me refine my work going forward.” —Aninda Singh, Ceramic Artist and RCA 2025 scholarship winner
